In an effort to better prepare children to play the thrilling sport of Ice Hockey, Ice World offers high quality Hockey Initiation Program. Each series is 6 weeks long, can be repeated, and when successfully completed, will prepare the child for Recreational League play.
Hockey Initiation, for boys and girls ages 4-15, is designed to teach the fundamentals of proper skating techniques for hockey. Hockey Basics will teach introductory shooting, passing, and stick handling in addition to maneuverability, speed and agility. Prerequisite skill is independent forward skating.   Classes are one hour in length and include professional group instruction. Seven free public session passes are included with your registration.  Completion of our Hockey Skating Lesson Program  prior to taking Hockey Initiation Program is strongly recommended.
Players are grouped by ability and challenged to learn the skills.  Players progress from level to level at their own pace.  So players may move from group to group within one series of Hockey Initiation Program or may repeat a series at the same level until skills are mastered.
* Required equipment: HECC certified helmet, hockey skates, hockey gloves, shin pads, and stick.
* Additional family members registering for the same series receive a
10% discount on the extra class.

Classes meet Sunday Evenings 6:15pm to 7:15pm.
